Hun Many Inspires a New Generation at Vibrant Youth Symposium and Solidarity Dinner

Phnom Penh, December 21, 2024 – Mr. Hun Many, President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, presided over a symposium and solidarity dinner held at the OCIC building on the evening of December 21, 2024. The event was attended by various distinguished guests, including government officials and youth representatives.

During the event, Mr. Many reported on the past achievements of Group 22 and outlined three major goals: (1) to train and enhance the morale of Cambodian intellectual students; (2) to foster a sense of solidarity, common interests, and patriotism; and (3) to promote and preserve cultural and national heritage.

Following the report, Mr. Hun Many highlighted the history of Cambodia's first youth movement, linking two significant youth mechanisms: the Association of Young Intellectuals and the Federation of Democratic Cambodian Intellectuals (Group 22). He emphasized that Group 22 was established to support the Royal Government in the pursuit of peace under the direct leadership of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen. He noted that although Group 22 currently operates under the umbrella of the Cambodian People's Party (CPC), Samdech Techo consistently acknowledges their sacrifices and contributions to maintaining peace in the nation.

Mr. Many conveyed Samdech Techo’s advice and greetings to all K22 working groups, expressing appreciation for their dedication and steadfast commitment to their duties, particularly their active participation in the S.S.Y.K. family, both in the past and present.

In an atmosphere of closeness akin to that of a family gathering, he emphasized the importance of strengthening organizational structures and collaborating with the Royal Government. Mr. Many urged attendees to help disseminate Cambodia’s vision and accurate information, creating opportunities for young people to engage in deeper learning. He also called for the continuation of the spirit of December 2, encouraging the cultivation of awareness and critical thinking among young people regarding their common interests, both now and in the future.
